In the course of the conversion of the feeding system, four fattening sections were reconfigured. In the piglet rearing and fattening sections, the German competitor's feeding system was swapped for a Schauer Spotmix feeding system. In four fattening sections (B1, B2, C1, C2), individual pens were set up for 22 fattening pigs. With the Schauer Spotmix multiphase feeding and the newly arranged finnishing barn it is possible to better evaluate the livestock performance and to secure it on a statistical basis. One particularly special innovation is supplying the livestock with manipulable material – Spotmix Welfare.

Spotmix Welfare is a functional extension of the Spotmix multiphase feeding and enables the distribution of short chopped straw with a fibre length of 40mm, as well as hay or straw bales, both automatically and in the required quantities. The manipulable material is dosed individually via a cyclone and can be dosed either directly on the floor into an ad libitum dry feeder. Spotmix Welfare has now been successfully used in Finland for two years, and most recently in Austria as well.
